Florie Finds a Family by Evelyn Jackson

This is a beautiful story of a Galapagos tortoise that teaches children about the theory of evolution. Florie, a long necked tortoise, meets Cruzie, a short necked tortoise. At first, Cruzie laughs at Florie for not looking like him. Florie feels rejected and sad. Then, Abuela, the grandmother of both, teaches them that each of them came from the same great, great grandparents. Florie and Cruzie become friends.
